Program descriptions:
This experiential course is designed to introduce students to unique issues faced by individuals and firms conducting business in an international context through a combination of in-class study, independent study, and travel to South Korea. Students will also learn about the unique history and context of South Korea, its rise as a global hub of high technology and manufacturing, and its role in the regional and global economy. At the end of the semester, the class will embark on an 11-day trip to explore and experience South Korea in the cities of Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. Visits with multi-national corporations, cultural and historical sites, and universities allow students to gain insights into past and present life and work culture and see how the South Korean experience differs from that of the United States.
