ABOUT HAN UNIVERSITY
  • HAN was established in 1996 after a merger of several other schools. It operates in 13 buildings on two campuses - one in Arnhem and one in Nijmegen.
  • HAN University of Applied Sciences is one of the five largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands.
  • HAN offers high-quality, practice-based education to more than 30,000 students. Its centers of expertise provide tailored research to companies and institutions.
  • As of 2017, HAN had over 33,790 Bachelor students, 1,291 Masters students and 3,546 employees.

ABOUT NIJMEGEN, NETHERLANDS
  • Nijmegen, located in Eastern Netherlands on the Waal River, is the oldest town in the Netherlands. The city celebrated its 2,000 years of existence in 2005.
  • The population of Nijmegen is over 165,000 and is the largest city in the province and the tenth largest city in the Netherlands.
  • There are lots of easily accessible buses in the city. Another fast and easy way to get around is by bicycle. There are many useful cycle lanes to save time in traffic.
  • Nijmegen has an oceanic climate and is one of the warmest cities in the Netherlands, especially during the summer.
  • The city is famed for its annual Four Day March, the largest marching event in the world. Thousands of people in the city and surrounding area take part.
