ABOUT UNIVERSIDAD DE DEUSTO
  • The university was founded in 1886 as a result of the Society of Jesus wanting to relocate its Laguardia-based School of Higher Studies to a more central location and the community of the Basque Country wishing to have a university they could call their own.
  • The Times Higher Education University Impact Ranking is the only global performance ranking that assesses universities against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The 2021 ranking includes more than 1,200 universities from 98 countries on five continents. The University of Deusto is ranked among the world’s 100 best universities and 10th in Spain. The ranking especially valued the University of Deusto’s contribution to making cities more inclusive and sustainable, highlighting its support to culture, heritage and traditions.
  • University of Deusto is composed of six schools and colleges: School of Law, Theological College, College of Engineering, Deusto Business School, College of Psychology and Education and College of Social and Human Sciences.
  • University of Deusto has over 10,000 students in attendance and employs more than 1,400 staff.

ABOUT BILBAO, SPAIN
  • Bisbao is Biscay's capital and the largest city in the Basque Country. It was built on the Nervion-Ibaizabal estaury and is a financial-economic hub, as well as a meeting point for business and trade in the Basque Country.
  • Some of the top things to do in Bilbao include the Guggenheim Museum, Casco Viejo, Arriaga Theater, Market la Ribera, Zubizuri Bridge and more. Bilbao is sophisticated and humming with action. At the same time, it offers savory Basque cuisine, Basque culture, shopping and nightlife.
  • The university is located in the most cosmopolitan area of Bilbao, beside the river and surrounded by avant garde buildings boasting signatures of the world's most prestigious architects. Students can also reach the beach within 20 minutes by underground and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in the mountains that surround the city.
