ABOUT HOSEI UNIVERSITY
  • The university originated as a school of law in 1880. It adopted its present name in 1903 and was ultimately recognized as a private university in 1920.
  • There are more than 200 clubs recognized by the university. The university belongs to the Tokyo Big 6 Baseball League, one of the most established college sports leagues in Japan.
  • It is one of the oldest private universities in Japan (138 years).
  • The university has approximately 40,000 students and over 700 academic staff.
  • International studies and students are important and the university has 235 partner universities in 35 countries and regions.
