ABOUT ERLANGEN, GERMANY
  • Erlangen is a city in Bavaria, Germany. With Nuremberg, Fürth, and Schwabach, Erlangen forms one of the three metropolises in Bavaria. It lies at the junction of the Schwabach and Regnitz rivers, just north of Nürnberg.
  • The city is divided into an Altstadt ("Old Town") and a Neustadt ("New Town").
  • The city is relatively low in precipitation, about 650mm per year. The castle mountain in particular protects the area of the core city from cold polar air.
