May 10, 2019 - May 17, 2019

Students interested in this program must first receive permission from the program leader. Please contact Dr. Kyle Ward at kyle.ward@mnsu.edu or Dr. Lori Lahlum at lori.lahlum@mnsu.edu with your interest to this program.

Students will learn from various experts in this field, research at cultural/heritage sites and museums, be paired with a student counterpart from the other country, and visit local high schools to see how all of this would be taught in each countries high schools.
Objectives
  • Examine and describe the impact that immigration has had on the U.S.
  • Critique the impact Norwegians have had on American society, politics, religion, and culture.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research that will allow them to analyze historical events.
  • Consolidate information from experts in both Norway and the U.S. to help formulate theories and develop arguments to defend their research findings.
