ABOUT SEINAN GAKIUN UNIVERSITY
  • The university's International division is one of the oldest exchange programs in Japan. The curriculum of the program includes classes in Japanese language, culture, and society.
  • Seinan Gakuin University is a humanities-focused university with a long history of international exchange and cooperation.
  • The location of the university, in Kyushu's largest city, known as the "gateway to Asia," offers students an exciting environment to learn and grow.
  • In addition to its 14 courses of study in seven undergraduate departments, SGU also offers nine courses in eight graduate divisions.
  • As of 2018, the university had 8,330 undergraduate students, 133 graduate students, and 215 full-time faculty.

ABOUT FUKUOKA, JAPAN
  • Fukuoka is located on the northern shore of Japan's Kyushu Island. It is known for its ancient temples, beaches, and modern shopping malls.
  • Fukuoka has a humid subtropical climate, hot humid summers, and relatively mild winters.
  • The city is Kyushu's largest and one of Japan's ten most populated cities because of its closeness to the Asian mainland.
  • One of the key attractions of Fukuoka is the way it combines the convenience of the city with a rich natural environment. The public transport network is excellent, with rail, bus and subway services that make it easy to get around in the city. Lush natural surroundings - sea and mountains - are only about 30 minutes away from downtown, and the city is noted nationwide for its delicious foods.
