Why Thailand?
Thailand earned its reputation as one of the premier tourist destinations in the world through its gorgeous landscape, beautiful culture, relaxed lifestyle, and the truly warm-hearted nature of its people. Students and graduates who choose to do an internship in this Southeast Asian destination have the opportunity to build their resume through meaningful work experience in a growing market. World Endeavors’ site in the city of Bangkok offers a wide range of internship options from environmental conservation to international business to architecture. On weekends and holidays, interns can take advantage of affordable travel to explore the many attractions Thailand has to offer.

Interns can expect to work side by side with local colleagues, receive direction from a manager or staff member, and behave just as one would in a real job. On weekends or after work hours, interns engage in a host of activities depending on each participant’s tastes. Interns share meals with new friends or host family members, take in cultural events, explore the city, or even take day or weekend trips outside of the area. World Endeavors provides a list of possible activities in the area, and the World Endeavors local coordinator can also function as an ever-present guide and ambassador to the area.

As one of the largest metropolitan areas in Asia, Bangkok is a bustling, thriving city that pulses with the everyday energy of the millions of people who call it home and the equally large population of international visitors. To live in Bangkok is to truly be at the heart of the action and to get a sense of the world coming together to work, play, and exchange ideas.

Program Snapshot

Housing: Interns typically live with local host families or in shared or single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. In some cases, interns may have the option to live in a single or shared apartment. Housing is located in close proximity to public transportation, which in Bangkok includes buses, subways, boats, and even an elevated Skytrain.

Dates: Internships are available year round, and each placement is customized for the participant. This means that World Endeavors interns can choose the start date and duration of their internship as well as the field. Due to holidays, traditional vacation schedules, and seasonal work availability, there might be better times than others to intern in a specific location or in a specific field. Our advisors work with interns to ensure that their timeframe works adequately with the internship site. This communication is key to creating a successful internship placement.
