Why Ireland?
Known for its scenic countryside of rolling hills and fertile valleys as well as for its cultural and historic legacy, Ireland truly earns its nickname of “the Emerald Isle.” The people of Ireland are some of the friendliest, and their hospitality is world renowned. Ireland’s magic has drawn visitors for centuries, and it continues to be one of the most popular European destinations for travelers. Ireland’s hospitality is combined with a thriving economy that has attracted investors from all over the world, making Ireland an ideal location for international interns.

Interns can expect to work side by side with local colleagues, receive direction from a manager or staff member, and behave just as one would in a real job. On weekends or after work hours, interns engage in a host of activities depending on each participant’s tastes. Interns share meals with new friends or host family members, take in cultural events, explore the city, or even take day or weekend trips outside of the area. World Endeavors provides a list of possible activities in the area, and the World Endeavors local coordinator can also function as an ever-present guide and ambassador to the area.

Live in Ireland
Ireland’s scenic natural beauty and historic past make it one of the most enchanting and memorable countries in Western Europe. World Endeavors interns in Ireland can choose between several cities in this compact country, depending on availability for their field.

Cork is a city of cultural diversity and the arts. Dance, film, music, poetry, and theatre all play an important role in the daily life in Cork. It is a sophisticated, vibrant, and diverse city that has been named the European Capital of Culture.

Located near the midpoint of Ireland’s east coast, Dublin’s metropolitan area houses over 1 million people. Dublin is a historical and contemporary cultural center for Ireland, and is also the modern center of education, the arts, economy, and industry. There is something for everyone in Dublin.

Galway is located on the west coast of Ireland and is known for the vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, events, and celebrations. It is the home of the Galway Arts Festival, which brings in dance, film, theatre, music, and multiple art groups and organizations.

Program Snapshot

Housing: Interns live in shared apartments with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities located near their internship site. Apartments are fully furnished and have basic domestic appliances. Other types of living arrangements are occasionally available for an additional fee.

Irish people are warm and friendly and are often willing to lend a hand to help a stranger. First time visitors in Ireland may be pleasantly surprised by the generosity and genuine spirit of compassion that is characteristic of the locals.

Dates: Internships are available year round, and each placement is customized for the participant. This means that World Endeavors interns can choose the start date and duration of their internship as well as the field. Due to holidays, traditional vacation schedules, and seasonal work availability, there might be better times than others to intern in a specific location or in a specific field. Our advisors work with interns to ensure that their timeframe works adequately with the internship site. This communication is a key to creating a successful internship placement.

Duration: Generally, the minimum program duration for interning in Ireland is 2 months. Contact World Endeavors if you would like to go for a shorter duration.
